Eveia’s technology’s significant advantage since it is based on  homogeneous immunoassays. The benefit of using a homogeneous assay solution can be explained easily by solution-phase kinetics. The time needed for the completion of a binding reaction between a low-abundance protein and its corresponding antibody is proportional to 1 /(ka Ab + kd), where ka is the association rate, Ab is the antibody concentration, and kd the dissociation rate. In most cases, this time is minutes or less, and can be decreased by increasing the antibody concentration. As a solution-based assay, EVEIA has the advantage of fast kinetics and can be performed with excellent sensitivity in minutes. Most commercially available immunoassays are surface-based (heterogeneous) and require significantly longer incubation times of several hours or overnight.

Competitive Binding Assay Development

  • Rapid assay development: requires single antibody and fluor-labeled analyte
  • High sensitivity and wide analytical range is achievable
  • Applicable to a wide range of analytes (mM – pM endogenous levels of proteins, peptides, or small molecules)

Sandwich Assay Development

  • Rapid assay development: requires biotin labeled antibody and fluor-labeled antibody
  • High sensitivity and wide analytical range is achievable
  • Reactions can be driven by a large excess concentration of both antibodies
  • Applicable to a wide range of analytes (mM – fM endogenous levels of proteins, peptides, or small molecules)
